What kind of fool is daughtry?

Anyone who has been paying attention knows that the first leg of the daughtry “arena tour” was little more than a bad joke, and that the arrogant poser couldn’t sell out a single show, not even in his home town.

Worse still, the venues foolish enough to book the wanker added insult to injury by under-reporting venue capacity in a futile attempt to disguise how badly his “arena tour” was tanking.

But tank it did.

Idols’ First Week Sales: Update

It’s time for another update, now that Katharine McPhee’s sophomore album has hit the charts…okay, “Unbroken” didn’t make much of an impact, selling only 13% of what her debut album sold in its first week, but theoretically it could still skyrocket.

Or not. Only time will tell.

Katharine McPhee: Will she sink or swim?

The answer to that burning question depends, of course, on whether or not you are a rabid fangirl determined to spin even the most dismal sales numbers into a triumphant return to the charts.

Skyrockets are optional this time around.

The Year of Touring Badly; daughtry tanks in 2009!

Remember this?

Chris Daughtry says the band is busy preparing for its upcoming arena tour. “We dreamed about how it would feel playing these songs to packed arenas, and we’re excited to get our chance,” Chris says. “We have a great show planned and can’t wait to hit the road to share it with our fans.”

David Cook’s final show cancelled!

The official end of Cook’s “never-ending tour” came one day early after the Ted Constant Center in Norfolk, Virginia abruptly cancelled his December 2nd show.

Can you imagine the reaction at DCO? Well, you don’t have to…just keep on reading.

The Sophomore Slump of daughtry

Have I ever mentioned that I like tracking SoundScan numbers? No? Well I do, in part because they’re so very helpful in illustrating how quickly an Idol’s “status in the industry,” whether real or imagined, can change.

Someone tell David Cook…the Light’s Off.

Remember this?

Our beloved “Light On” is heading towards platinum. Once derided as a “boat anchor” that will weigh down DCTR (and kill its sales), Zenny has proven to be a slow but hot burning smash hit that made #4 on HAC and #23 on Top 40.

How very exciting, if only it were true.
