Here is my result…
Dcd completed the quiz “What Smurf Are You?” with the result Harmony.
You are Harmony Smurf a real music lover. You love to play any instrument you can find. Unfortunately, you don’t know how to play any instruments. Whenever you get a hold of one, even if its a music box, it plays out of key! That doesn’t stop you from trying. (Much to the horror of anyone who is around you.) Hey, you gotta sing when the spirit says sing!.

DCD74′s Memphis recap

Hello hello! So as my dear attic dwellers know, I had the pleasure of going to see the Memphis show on Sunday. Once we got parked, I got the trusty old motor cooler out and started to the buses. Now you know I used to use that thing to follow Taylor…(I know Taylor who???) so I had to make a few adjustments to the decor to reflect my love for Kris. I added a nice Arkansas flag, an applause-o-meter and decorated the perimeter with red and blue glitter stars and packed up the cooler with some good ol’ southern bbq, fried taters, catfish etc so I could feed the idols. I get to the buses and the idols quite enjoy the cuisine I have prepared. I had to smack Gokey’s hand as he couldn’t stay out of everyone else’s plates. (You know he admitted he cant stay out of the kitchen!) So we head off the bus and the idols are impressed with my mobile cooler. I give each of them a turn to ride around on it. Kradam rode together and were popping wheelies! Too bad I forgot my camera! At this point it is time to get in line so I give the idols a hug goodbye and get them all to sign my bedazzled straight jacket. None of them marked over Taylor’s signature..they were all so nice!

So I get in line and cant believe the number of blue haired people there! I felt so out of place…I should have dyed my hair blue too! We get into the venue and I park in a cooler friendly area and get ready for the show. Blah blah videos and then the lights go dim…here is my take on each contestant….

The concert was wonderful, I was really impressed. The sets have come a long way over the years. They have gone from tin foil sets to fancy video sets. I enjoyed the majority of the performances!

First up was Michael Sarver…I didn’t care for him on the show but I was impressed with how much better he sounded at the concert. He sang Gavin DeGraw’s I’m In Love With A Girl and Neyo’s Closer. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed him.

Next up was Megan…she is a very very pretty girl and I think she would do wonderfully in modeling or something. Her first song was Corinne Bailey Rae’s Put Your Records On…she did that one pretty well. Her next song was an Amy Winehouse tune and she sounded horrible on it…I didn’t dig it at all.

Scott was next. He came up from under the stage with his piano and sang a Keane song and Vanessa Carlton’s A Thousand Miles. I know a lot of people didn’t care for him but he did good at the concert. He is still cracking jokes about the high five!

Along comes Lil…this was her hometown visit! I got to where I didn’t care much for Lil during the season. She just never brought “it” like she did in auditions and semis. She sounded really good at the concert and seemed so happy to be home. She did Noone by Alicia Keys, Be Without You by Mary J and Single Ladies by Beyonce.

And then there was Anoop…I know a lot of people here didn’t care of Anoop. I liked him on the show but I absolutely LOVED him at the concert. He opened with Always on My Mind…and it made me cry just as it did when he sang it on the show. That was one of dad’s favorite songs and it gets to me anyway but his rendition was beautifully sung. That coupled with dad’s birthday being this week..I let my emotions get to me…sue me LOL Next up he did Neyo’s Mad…I love me some Neyo but Anoopy did it justice…he gets Scott’s high five from me! He closed with My Perogative and let me tell you..little Anoop has got some moves…I looked at mama and said DAYAM LOL I would definitely buy some Anoop Dawg!

Matt Giraud up next…He was one that I could take or leave on the show. Some performances I liked..some I didn’t. LOVED him at the concert! He came out full of energy singing Hard To Handle and he rocked it…the piano came up out of the floor and he got down with the whole rockin piano solo. Next he did a beautiful rendition of Georgia On My Mind..I absolutely loved it. He closed with The Fray’s You Found Me and it was awesome…I hope he gets signed by someone!

Next up was a medley of the Idols that had performed up to that point. I am having a brainfart as to what all they had in it but I found it really enjoyable and then there was intermission.

The lights dim again and out comes Allison. She is just as cute as can be and OMG so much energy..she was bouncing around singing So What By Pink and playing the guitar. Crybaby by Janis Joplin was next..damn the girl has some pipes on her! She closed with Heart’s Barracuda and I thought she kicked butt! She did you proud Rach!!

And now it is time for Danny Gokey…he has a decent voice but there were several times where he seemed like he was having trouble like he might be blowing his voice out. He sang PYT and it was not bad. He did Maria Maria and I thought it was horrid . He tried to latin dance at the end and um just say no! He did Rascal Flatts What Hurts the Most and My Wish…in between he gave a quick speech about facing tragedy and getting your life back together etc. but it wasn’t a big preachy sermon.

And now it is down to Adam…he opens with Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin and OMG Adam has some moves. I looked at mama and again said DAYAM LOL He did Starlight by Muse and it was good. He brought Allison back out for their Slow Ride duet. They were so cute..you could tell they were having a blast up there! He then slowed things down for Mad World and just sat on a stool and sang. Him singing that song is just hauntingly beautiful. He closed out his set with a Bowie medley and broke out the moves again. I think the audience needed a fan when he was done! LOL

And it all comes down to Kris…as you all know he was my fave this season and he didn’t disappoint me at all. He opened with Heartless on the guitar and it was awesome. Next was The Killers All These Things I’ve Done, I wasn’t familiar with this song but I really enjoyed it! Ramblings on the AI blogs and sites are that they pulled No Boundaries and put that song in. Again, the piano comes in from the floor and Kris goes into Ain’t No Sunshine. His version of that just makes my heart melt LOL He stayed at the piano and broke into Matchbox 20′s Bright Lights. I have always loved that song and he did me proud! And Daq he looked oh sooooo cute The piano went back down and he jammed with the band to end the song. To close the show..he grabbed an acoustic and played Hey Jude. The other finalists joined him at the end for the na na na na part and they all really seemed to have a good time up there.

For the super cheesy goodness encore they did a group number of Don’t Stop Believing by Journey…

I have watched all 8 seasons of Idol…this was my 3rd season seeing the tour…I saw 5 and 6. Overall in my opinion this is one of the most talented crops of finalists. I was truly impressed by how much I liked the ones that I didn’t much care for on the show. Again Danny just say no to latin dancing!

SO after watching allllll of that…my applause-o-meter said that Kris got the biggest and loudest screams…but being a Kris fan it was rigged just like his win by Arkansas on it’s own…that is how we Arkansans do it..we gotta rig it so we can win it Wink
