Well.
Someone has some time on their hands.
Or needs a new paint by numbers kit.
KIDDING.

Ok — I do not see where I can edit my own comment.
I have been waiting and waiting for the pop ups and ad banners, to no avail.

If the only way to edit a comment is to go to the Dashboard or other Editor/Author or Admin function, what would a newly registered user do? Offhand it doesn’t sound like a good idea to have any and all registered users be passed through the dashboard function with all it’s accessibility just to be able to edit their comment.
If “newly registered user” is a banned entity here and it’s a read-only blog well, then, this works. you might want to take the “register” option off the main page though.
This is a very nice looking format, just wondering about the basics of comments and access to edit of comments for the ‘casual’ reader. It is an extra step to edit a comment and provides access to a bunch of shit (like email and ISP addys), and it is an extra step to return to the blog after a comment edit.
But it looks very nice.

Just to see, I went to register as a new user using the WordPress Screen/module and the process is, well, screwy. I’ve tried a couple of times and it doesn’t seem to work correctly. (Asking for a password 4 times was a hint to me, and hitting the enter key when you think you are through gets nada.)
I suspect the Admin “hard-register” option works, but a new reader who wants to “register” per the home page option will not know about that, i.e., they will just click on the “Register” option.
But it looks very nice.

Ah bugger, please don’t let there be too many problems, I like this new format a lot!

Katharine McPhee – “Had It All” [Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien]
And the excuses are starting to fly…missed appearances, swimming pools and ice cream cones aren’t far off.
FYI Kat was performing on Conan w/ strep and a sinus infection.
Delusional *** fans weigh in…
I LOVE Kat! Always found it interesting that she arouses so many opinions about her voice, looks, and “way” in general. Is it just my perception or does anyone else sense this? She is versatile and able to perform(and has) as a singer with some of the greater artistic crowd-yet, appeal to the younger genre also with the passing contemporary “stuff” that we all soon forget as soon as a “new” hit comes out by another “artist”!….For some reason, seems Kat is taken so “personal” by many and that in both the negative and positive reaction….I believe it is the sign of her strong staying power. I believe after many “idols” have come and gone off the “hit charts” and popular love fest- Katharine Mcphee will have staying power as a singer and earn the respect she deserves….Just saying…..

I see that youtube videos with this new design will more than likely expand past the posting box size.

I wonder if it’s a sign of Katharine’s “strong staying power” that she’s essentially been off the radar for the last two & a half years?

Katharine McPhee ‘surprised’ by how bad she was on ‘Idol’
Kat McPhee is releasing her second album, Unbroken, tomorrow, and while she may be proud of that, she told The Los Angeles Times she’s not so happy when she watches her old American Idol performances.
“I mean, you’re not gonna have a great week every week, but honestly, I was surprised how bad some of them were. Maybe in the moment people didn’t think they were bad, but looking back at how much I’ve grown… I could see where I was uncomfortable, where I was pushing, where it wasn’t about the simple storytelling of the song, it was about trying to perform, and that really doesn’t work. It’s not about selling the song, it’s about telling the story. I really wasn’t a developed singer and didn’t have much performing skills.”
Now, she says, she’s “grown a lot” from traveling around “and doing gigs and little radio shows around the country – all that literally taught me how to be a recording artist.”

In other news:
For the first time since 2002, U.S. consumers spent more to see Hollywood movies in theaters last year than buy them on DVD and Blu-ray discs, industry figures showed on Monday, and that trend is expected to continue.
In recent years, Hollywood has come to rely on the high profit margin from DVD sales to underwrite the large cost of producing and marketing films, but with DVD sales dwindling, the movie industry is reexamining its business models.

Something else to ponder…
Susan Boyle‘s international hit album “I Dreamed a Dream” (Syco/Sony Music Entertainment) is also making an impact in Japan.
“I Dreamed a Dream” reached No. 6 in Billboard’s Japan Albums charts on Dec. 19, the highest ranked album by a non-Japanese artist that week and the only one in the top 10 apart from Michael Jackson’s “This Is It.”
Boyle’s debut has moved more than 106,000 units since its release in Japan according to SoundScan Japan, making it the top selling album for a non-Japanese artist in Japan from Nov. 25-Jan. 3.

OK all kidding aside is it really annoying to go through the dashboard to edit comments? For now I mean?
Other than Sue (sorry Sue) everyone who posts here is either an author or an admin so we all have access to the dashboard. It’s not as if anyone new is going to register. We have registered lurkers and unregistered lurkers but they’ve yet to make a comment and I seriously doubt they ever will. I wish they would. Why they lurk here I will never know but they do.
The old theme was just fine until I updated it. The update included shrinking the font to the size of little d and removing the “author” from a post, neither of which was in any way acceptable.
I looked through a gazillion themes and this one was the best I could come up with.
I’m sorry if it’s annoying. I will look again on the weekend.

Well, we are damn witty and quite entertaining.

LOL, I do not mind editing that way. It’s easy.

I’m something of an editing maniac, and I’m fine with this theme…

I use the editing feature very frequently and find the new way cumbersome, but better than having no editing feature. As for the new design, for me, it is just OK. I like the features in the sidebar, but the appearance, not so much. On my computer it looks like this and is hard to read.
