First, a definition from Merriam-Webster:

Main Entry: comb–over
Pronunciation: \ˈkōm-ˌō-vər\
Function: noun
Date: 1980
: an arrangement of hair on a balding man in which hair from the side of the head is combed over the bald spot
See: David Cook

Okay, I’m kidding, the definition doesn’t really reference David Cook, but it probably should. His comb-over is beyond hideous and approaching hysterical, as in “It’s hysterically funny that Cook thinks he’s fooling anyone with that greasy rat’s nest of a comb-over, as if any self-respecting rodent would be caught dead anywhere near that sorry mess!”
