From yesterday’s thread:
I’ve never seen ‘Dexter’ show up anywhere reputable before midnight EST, and that’s unusual.
But I’ve got mine now. Heh.
I waited and ended up watching the finale HERE this morning when I woke up at 4:00 AM.
What did you think of the ending? I wasn’t surprised at who was killed, just at the manner of death. It will be interesting to see how they proceed next season.

Oh dear, I am rewatching the clips I linked from YouTube of The Flight of the Conchords, I might have to fall off the DVD wagon. SOB. I wanted to be so good! But I need to own that show!

My sister had her Christmas concert last night. Sigh.
I love Christmas time. Even the, Hezzer avert your eyes, snow. Mind you in March I will be singing a different song about the freaking snow, maybe even as soon as February, or even January.

OK, if I had not watched the show and really did not want to read any spoilers—until the DVD is released!!!—I would avoid all ‘DEXTER” related web sites, and most certainly would not be reading a TWITTER page dedicated to last night’s season finale.
Asshat.

For your
entertainmentinformation:Tip tips: Be generous, but…
That’s actually not too bad. Having been one, I can say that the ones they post every year for New York City residents can spin your head right ’round baby right ’round.
If I came through with half of what ‘they’ said I should do it was a good year. The lists never said “cheap bottle of rum for your super,” yet it always worked.

Nevada, I know you love stats so here’s a few for you from this years X Factor.
X Factor: Olly Murs consoled by mum as results show he never came top in public vote… and was even beaten by Jedward
I personally was a Danyl fan although not an avid watcher or a voter.

Thanks Lisa, it’s refreshing to see such transparency in releasing the voting stats.
Meanwhile, American Idol continues to stonewall. Wankers.

I don’t watch the show, but if anyone’s interested:
If you’re a “Dexter” fan and you were hoping for a huge twist in the megafinale, then you got what you wanted. And that twist was, of course, that the entire series was dreamed up by a child with autism. Just kidding. Let’s take it below the break:

A review of Z100′s Jingle Ball, with mentions of a couple of Idols:
Not frailty of voice nor cast on leg nor uncomfortably tall duet partners could keep Justin Bieber, the pint-size, swoosh-haired 15-year-old pop moppet from Stratford, Ontario — that’s Canada, people — from his appointed duty at Madison Square Garden on Friday night: decimating the larynxes of thousands of tween girls.
and:
Also, there was Kanye West’s “Heartless,” sung ably, it should be said, by Kris Allen, the current “American Idol” champion, who was nevertheless received indifferently, like a substitute teacher, by the Bieber demographic. It was a reminder of the limitations of the “American Idol” machine, also evinced by the hollow response to Jordin Sparks, the 2007 winner, who had an energetic set that went largely uncheered until Mr. Bieber joined her to sing the Chris Brown parts of the love duet “No Air.”
Even after she unstrapped her heels and tossed them aside, Ms. Sparks still had four inches on him, to say nothing of octaves in vocal range. The effect was that of a mother singing to her child, not two lovers desperate to hold on to each other. Ms. Sparks is no vixen, nor is she much of an adult, but she made Mr. Bieber seem small.

In music news:
2009 was the year of Taylor Swift.
During the past 12 months, she transitioned from a breakthrough country artist into a genuine pop star, and now the Big Machine singer-songwriter takes the crown as Billboard’s top artist of the year.
Swift, who made her Billboard charts debut in July 2006, is the first solo female or country act to earn the top artist title since 1997. That was when LeAnn Rimes, then herself a young country crossover star, took home the honor.

More music news:
Eminem earns Billboard’s Artist of the Decade title, fittingly just slightly more than 10 years after he made his Billboard Hot 100 debut.
The decade-end artist recap ranks the best-performing acts of the past 10 years (from Dec. 4, 1999, to Nov. 28, 2009) based on activity on two charts: the Billboard 200 albums list and the Billboard Hot 100 songs tally.
The hip-hop king first graced the Hot 100 chart Feb. 27, 1999 with “My Name Is,” then racked up another 27 entries from 2000 onward. On the Billboard 200, all five of his sets released in the decade reached No. 1. Additionally, his debut album, “The Slim Shady LP,” debuted and peaked at No. 2 in the spring of 1999, but continued to chart in 2000.

I’m glad to hear this, IMO the show is brilliant—both well-written and well-acted, suspenseful, humorous. I urge all my fellow Attic denizens to watch or rent it.
Debra Morgan, Dexter’s sister, has shit for luck…
–Fiance is a serial killer who tries to murder her
–New boyfriend is captured by a murderer
–Gets shot
–Other boyfriend is murdered in front of her shortly after she is shot
–Person who killed her boyfriend commits suicide in front of her
–Finds out adopted brother is also brother of the guy who tried to kill her
–Sister-in-law is murdered.

I am not holding out much hope but here’s hoping that this year’s GRAMMY Award voters look at the actual artistic merit of an artist/song/album instead of sales/units moved.
