It’s that time of year…
If it’s October, the initial Grammy ballots are now in the hands of voters, so let the touting start as to favorites for the 52nd annual ceremony to be held at L.A.’s Staples Center on Jan. 31, bumped up a week for the Winter Olympics.
This is the first in a series, which will analyze the various categories, beginning with Best Album of the Year.

I meant to post this earlier but got distracted…
Columbia Records and Twentieth Century Fox are ready for their close-up as Glee The Music: Vol 1, the official soundtrack to creator Ryan Murphy’s hit series, gets ready to street on Nov. 3.
The project was brought to the label by soundtrack consultant Glen Brunman, signed by Columbia/Epic Label Group chief Rob Stringer and now being promoted and marketed by Steve Barnett’s team at Columbia Records.

In music news:
Renewed interest in the Beatles and Michael Jackson slowed the decline of U.S. album sales in the third quarter, although the industry is still on track to fall for the eighth time in nine years.
Sales were off 11.1% compared with the same period in 2008, according to Nielsen SoundScan. After the second quarter, sales were down 14.7% compared with the first half of 2008.

For Boris:
What kind of show was Kylie Minogue‘s Sunday night debut at the Hollywood Bowl? The kind in which the dancers outnumbered the musicians, the backup vocalists had several costume changes and the headliner took the stage astride an enormous bejeweled skull as a small battalion of futuristic robots twirled beneath her.
To paraphrase Minogue’s old pal Robbie Williams, the ego finally had landed.
Or had it? Unlike Madonna or Lady Gaga, Minogue doesn’t really trade in imperturbable cool or calculating power plays. Her act is a kinder, gentler spin on dance-pop divadom, and though Sunday’s concert stop — midway through her first-ever North American tour — offered no shortage of self-aggrandizing spectacle, the effect was more welcoming than it was intimidating.

For Hez:
Normally, fall is the season Fox likes to forget. It struggles to launch shows, and its big guns — “24″ and “American Idol” don’t come on until after January. If that’s not enough, the network’s commitment to carry baseball playoffs and the World Series often wreaks havoc with its schedule for all of October.
But this fall Fox’s prime time is off to one of its best starts ever. It is poised to win the second week of the TV season in adults 18-49, and not only are some of its established shows showing strong staying power, new shows “Glee” and “The Cleveland Show” are keepers.

If anyone’s interested:
Allison Iraheta, the 17-year-old singer who made it to the top 4 on ‘American Idol’ last season with her rocker style and attitude is on her own now, and PopEater is proud to debut her new single, ‘Friday I’ll Be Over U.’ PopEater got the chance to chat with Allison about her new tune, which she says “ain’t too hard to understand” in its message.

I wonder if I should listen, didn’t like her on the show, doubt if I’ll like it now.
Also, now that damn little d site shows up as one of my top favourite sites when I open another tab. Stupid mutant, at least there are no pictures on it!

Oh wait, there is an edit ability and I was able to delete it, good, didn’t want the little weed’s name on my favourite websites.
