This is the classic example of how home town advantage doesn’t always help. They totally over-thought that cab ride. There was no traffic so they should have just taken the direct route.
Little trivia: When Rob and Brennan get on the platform, they ask somebody if this is the correct train. They actually shout the question to some people who are fleeing the platform. Turns out, that those people were decoy racers, Nancy & Emily (near the end of the race, they send out some of the teams to run the legs to serve as decoys so that people who see the racers can’t accurately report who is in the final legs). Rob and Brennan arrived at the station sooner than the race planners expected and they had to rush the decoy racers to the finish line to have them there before R&B (plus spotting a decoy racer would give you a clue you were on the right path. Fear of doing something wrong is one of the things that keep the racers off-kilter). R&B didn’t recognize N&E, but N&E told the story later.

LOL, good story Kirsten!
OK, I am an evil evil bitch and am going to Hell. After all their talk about Rob and Brennan following them and little tricks, and being cocky, I smile knowing that they are one train behind. Honestly, I am trying to remember when Rob and Brennan followed them and played tricks.
Oh well, I am satisfied at this point.

“This was non-stop, there’s no way they’re going to beat us.”
“I know if we get that train and they’re not on it, we’re so golden.”
Oops!
