Oooooo, fancy pictures! I love it!!!!!
I went to the movies last night, with Boris and Natasha and her boyfriend Ted (who is sometimes called Bob), Albert and a couple of Alices. It was a fun night, the review will be coming up soon. We saw the Wolverine movie. At midnight. NOT my idea, I must say!

Found via a link at Pulse:
Record stores are fading fast, the big labels–EMI, Sony/BMG, Universal, and Warner–are on their last legs, and commercial radio stations rarely play new music. The big music retail chains: Tower, Virgin, and HMV are all gone.
People still listen to music, it’s how they hear it and find it that’s changed. Oh, and they don’t want to pay for it.

How odd, I keep hearing a bell tolling…
Coldplay will give a live CD away for free to fans at gigs during their coming tour of North America, underlining the dwindling financial importance for successful groups of selling physical records.

An Idol article:
Adam Lambert wears eyeliner and diamond stud earrings, sings like a dream and has won a rare standing ovation from tough-minded judge Simon Cowell.
With three weeks to go before the “American Idol” final, Lambert, 27, is favored to win the No. 1 U.S. television talent show and become, possibly, the first gay or bisexual singer to be handed the “Idol” title by millions of Americans.

They’re still here. Thank Finn.
I did my part to help the music industry today. I picked up the new Bob, the new Paul Potts and, in honour of Nevada, a Marvin Gaye CD.
Of course, I live in Canada so my purchases are irrelevant.
In the immortal words of the toilet cleaning ChicagoSally, only America counts…baby.

Another Idol article:
Bo Bice, “American Idol” Season 4 runner-up to Carrie Underwood, is fresh off the heels of a three week tour and enjoying life in Nashville with his wife and two young musically inclined sons, Aidan and Caleb. Aidan, 3, “loves to play on his guitars and drums and he sings. He loves Rock Band — he does ‘Slow Ride’ very well, he knows almost all the words.” And anytime Caleb, 8 months, “sees an instrument or somebody singing, he’s all over it.”

From Ann Powers:
I’m astounded by the many heartfelt comments that have greeted my post about my emotional roller coaster ride during and after Adam Lambert‘s near-dismissal from “Idol” this past week. What can I say? The passion, sincerity and hopefulness of your words, Glambert fans, inspire me. What I got from your testimonies wasn’t just support for Adam, but joy in the power art can have in our lives, even when we’re a bit jaded, preoccupied with family and spouses and work, and even somewhat sheepish about the particular setting where the breakthrough happens; in this case, a television program that many “serious” music lovers (including a few critics I know!) scorn as trite and superficial.

A Q&A with Matt:
Matt Giraud is the history-making “American Idol” contestant who could never say goodbye. He was a Wild Card pick and the one person the judges chose to save two weeks ago when he was on the chopping block. But Wednesday night, his run finally came to an end. He talked to us this morning about having his confidence shaken and why he’s sticking with rock music. (Just maybe not Coldplay.)

Really, why does this warrant a Reuters article? Why is a person’s personal life this even a issue?
Evangelizing aside, it is not like any of the Idols are in line to become the next Pope.

In spite of what the fantards say about units sold, it is all about the tour.
ETA:
Speaking of tours…
Nevada, do you have information on Springsteen’s Denver tour? I am interested in seeing if it was really Sold Out. I have strong doubts.

Yes! Bring on more Daughtry! Can’t wait! I loved almost every song on the first album but will love the second one even more if it’s in fact “grittier”. Every other idol’s album I’ve bought, I’ve loved certain songs, but I love (still) almost every song on Daughtry…Still in heavy rotation on my iPod after, what, 2-1/2 years? But I have to admit I was, and guess I still am, a complete fantard of him. Is it July yet?

SIS!!!!
Not to worry.
BTW, you will get the gift you get every year for your birthday…a beautifully wrapped box of PUFFS…with a big bow on it.

If ***’s sophomore album ever materializes, my luck, it will be released on my birthday. UGH!
