Haven’t been around for few days, and I’m having a hard time getting some content to show up. I also notice a new comment log in. Annoying. Whazzupwitdat?
Maybe someone in charge could let me know what’s going on. I wish I had the time at the moment to figure it out myself. Was going to check on what you asked of me a while back Hezzer, but the site is not cooperating. Hope you are not punishing me — I don’t respond well to negative reinforcement. Greetings to all.

You can still log in as usual RSF can you not? I turned off the “you must be registered and logged in to comment” thingy to see if people would…and they did. Twice. I can change it back if you want…or you could. I was just curious.
As far as the other thing goes, at your leisure sir. No hurry at all. Again, I was just curious.

I have missed you dear peoples this weekend. Yesterday we went shopping in Cape again…came home and lit up the fire pit thingy to roast some weenies and make some smores with the kiddoes and some of their friends. It was a big hit so we’ll be doing it again at the halloween party. You all should come

From an interview with Aretha Franklin:
And I note, particularly with Clive, that the press just really adores Clive Davis. They really, really like him. Which is kind of unusual, I thought. But they respect and like him a lot.

Not my kind of music, but worth a read:
In 2007, Hinder grossed $4.4 million and drew more than 171,000 fans to 54 headlining concerts, according to Billboard Boxscore. A significant amount of those earnings came from last summer’s Bad Boys of Rock amphitheater tour, which also featured support acts Buckcherry and Papa Roach.

This could be a very interesting sales week:
ICE COVERS THE EARTH: AC/DC’s Black Ice is more than a stateside phenomenon. The album is exploding at retail all over the world, with an initial shipment of more than 2.1 milllion. The biggest territories are Germany (550k), Canada (344k), the U.K. (227k), France (209k) and the band’s native Australia (202k). What’s more, the European and North American legs of the “Black Ice World Tour” reportedly sold out in a matter of minutes, while worldwide catalog sales on the year are a split hair short of 5 million units. So it appears that rock is alive and well on a global basis. (10/24a)

And there’s this:
SPIRIT OF INDEPENDENT: Independent Records & Video, a seven-store Colorado chain with outlets in Colorado Springs, Denver and Pueblo, is selling the new Black Ice, CD for $9.98 ($2 less than at Wal-Mart) and $23.98 for the vinyl version. “Support your local retailers…and exercise your freedom of choice. Make sure that Black Ice isn’t a slippery slope into a Wal-Mart nation where the only things you can buy are what they’re selling,” writes the retailer in making the announcement. (10/23p)

This isn’t my kind of music either, but:
Country singer Lorrie Morgan has filed for bankruptcy for primarily business related debts, according to a court filing.

And this doesn’t surprise me at all:
Disney’s “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” — the first installment of the 2-year-old franchise to graduate from cable TV — recorded $42 million at the box office. The total gave it the best opening weekend ever for a movie musical, outpacing this summer’s “Mamma Mia!” ($27.8 million) and last year’s “Hairspray” ($27.5 million).

Not a fan of Taylor Swift either, but this piqued my interest a bit:
Whether it’s Shakespeare, dating or a disintegrating music business, Swift is only too willing to reshape the rules according to her own ideas about how things ought to be. She’s demonstrated that repeatedly since she was a brazen 12-year-old who went door to door down Nashville’s famed Music Row of record company offices saying, “Hi, I’m Taylor! I write songs and I think you should sign me.”

And some industry news:
According to new figures just released, [EMI] the underdog of the four major labels suffered losses of $1.2 billion in the financial year ended March 31, far deeper than the prior year’s $455 million. Revenue declined to $2.3 billion from $2.8 billion.
