Is it just me or does this seems like an odd thing to note in “This Day in Music History”???

This is what happens to bands, heh:
NEW CHIPMUNK ON THE BLOCK: It happened to Judas Priest, Van Halen and Journey and now it’s hit Alvin and the Chipmunks. Lead singer Alvin has left the band in the wake of the group’s blockbuster 2007 movie and near-platinum soundtrack, right before the upcoming release of the Chipmunks’ new album, Undeniable, on Razor & Tie Nov. 4. Open auditions are being held at http://www.chipmunkaudition.com, where potential new lead vocalists can upload audition videos directly to the group’s YouTube site. “The last time I yelled ALVIN!, he was nowhere to be found,” says longtime Chipmunks songwriter/producer David Seville. “I mean, he usually makes me do it three times. After that we work it out. But no. Then I saw that item on Perez Hilton about him and Miley Cyrus dining out at Geisha House with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake…I’ve been in this business since 1958. I know a guy who’s looking to make a solo record when I see one.” (10/6a)

I came across this at Pulse:
A federal judge dealt the Recording Industry Association of America and record labels a setback Wednesday by throwing out a $222,000 verdict against a mom who was convicted of illegally sharing music over the Internet.

I somehow missed this last week:
David Cook: “Light On” It’s true what they say: David Cook really is the new daughtry, minus the imperiousness and the leather pants. Incredibly, this song was co-written by Chris Cornell, whose rapid descent into irrelevancy is now complete.
