Because today is the day we mock little d™…
…the birds’ opinion of little d™ and his music.

Site has been slow for me, too.

Took the day off in hopes of getting some gardening done. But, since I am having a couple friend’s over for dinner, I have been in the freakin’ kitchen all day. I have prepared shrimp & scallop ceviche, chicken enchiladas (with refried beans, tomatoes, jalapeno, olives), and baked an anise seed pound cake—all from scratch. Now I am far too tired to work even an hour in the garden. Bugger.

Ahh, e ol’ distribution deal.
**shakes head as I recall the drawn out,—and oft repeated— “Elliott has a distribution deal” conversations for some of the **cough**slower**cough** E fans.**

Yes, it’s Friday, the end of a long week and the perfect time to mock the wasted space known as little d™. Shall we begin?
At 82 weeks, Kelly’s “Breakaway” had sold 5,366,933
At 82 weeks, Carrie’s “Some Hearts” had sold 5,619,270
At 82 weeks, little d™’s “daughtry” has sold 4,115,928
And the gap widens. That’s 1,251,005 fewer CDs than Kelly and 1,503,342 fewer than Carrie at the 82 week mark. Even the most delusional fangirl on the planet can’t honestly believe that the poser tool will ever make up that much of a deficit…
It ain’t gonna happen, people.

As for equivalent weeks:
06-20-06 Kelly’s “Breakaway” sold 20,976
06-19-07 Carrie’s “Some Hearts” sold 40,893
06-17-08 little d™’s “daughtry” sold 12,593
So it appears some poor fathers out there got little d™’s crappy CD for Father’s Day after all…or maybe the rabid fangirls just used that as yet another excuse to power-buy and stockpiled their “gifts” in the garage. The faux rawker’s sales are roughly 60% of Kelly’s and about 30% of Carrie’s.
This marks the last time that Kelly’s “Breakaway” sold more than 20k in a week, and the last time that Carrie’s “Some Hearts” sold more than 40k in a week, with the exception of the week leading up to Xmas 2007.
With any luck at all, this will be the last week in which little d™ sells more than 10k in a week.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
I think we should throw in some bLame mockery as well, just for fun. Perhaps at some point you could start comparing *** and bLame sales.

Now, on to the digital downloads…where Jordin’s fading Tattoo still managed to outsell the only crappy little d™ song on the sales chart.
Week 23: 06-17-08 16 12 SPARKS*JORDIN NO AIR 65584 4 63179 2064645
Week 38: 06-17-08 116 112 SPARKS*JORDIN TATTOO 11000 -2 1677182
versus
Week 21: 06-17-08 100 146 daughtry FEELS LIKE TONIGHT 10000 -31 468000
Gee, even with massive radio support and yet another money-wasting, ego-stroking video, little d™’s fourth “hit” has had virtually no sales traction.
On the subject of videos, the fangirls are apparently eagerly anticipating a video for What About Now, which they will power-vote for on VH1 in order to make it appear anyone actually gives a damn for this purported fifth “hit.” They expect sales of the album to increase in relation to how well the video does on VH1, but evidently none of them understands that with each video released, the less chance this crappy album has of ever getting out of recoupment.
Five videos; international showcases for bored Sony BMG executives; substantial pay-to-play as opening act for two major tours; covering their own touring expenses; thinly-disguised payola to radio stations for airplay; and other promotional efforts do not come cheap.
The red ink continues to flow.
